British photographer dennis morris was a high school student in london when he first met bob marley in 1974 when, through fate, they began a close professional relationship that lasted up to the untimely death of the reggae legend’s life seven years later. “rita marley had birthed bob’s second son, stephen marley, and left their ghost town house for a little house at bull bay in early 1972. Bob was alternatively living with her and sleeping at 56 hope road, where he was carrying on a torrid affair with esther anderson,” davis wrote. The final ten years of bob marley’s life, a period in which he achieved his greatest global fame, is the focus of the book.
Bob marley died in 1981 at the age of 36. He left behind a major musical and social and cultural legacy and along 11 children, including ziggy marley, who followed his father’s example and became a music star himself. Starting out in 1963 with the group the wailers, he forged a distinctive songwriting and vocal style that would later resonate with audiences worldwide. Marley later invited simon to jamaica to shoot the iconic cover for his kaya album, which led to asking her to join him and the wailers on their 1977 european tour.those images are part of simons
